At a reception on September 25, 2024 at the LHR Community Services Center, the board expressed its appreciation for Jennifer’s decade at the helm of LHR. Jennifer began her term as Executive Director in September of 2014, bringing her depth of knowledge of the Loudoun philanthropic and human services landscape to bear at Loudoun Hunger Relief. The board of directors promoted Jennifer to President & CEO of the organization in 2021.
In her tenure as the LHR executive, Jennifer has transformed the organization from a small emergency food pantry to a premier human services provider in Loudoun. Her leadership has been recognized with the Loudoun Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit Executive of Year award in 2020, and most recently with an appointment to the Virginia Commission to End Hunger.
LHR Board Chair, Charlie McQuillan, said, “Jennifer’s leadership of LHR over the last decade has been the key to success for this organization. Thanks to her, we have been able to scale to meet the rising need here in Loudoun and ensure that our neighbors continue to have enough to eat. Her vision and actions have created the best-practice Community Services Center that now serves 14,000-16,000 Loudoun residents each year. She continues to connect people to create a better community for us all. We salute her past 10 years of service and look forward to collaborating with her for another 10 years.”
Jennifer has also served as the chair of the Loudoun Human Services Network, the co-chair of the Loudoun Human Services Strategic Plan Steering Committee, as a Loudoun Chamber of Commerce board member, and has lent her expertise to many other efforts and committees over the years. She led Loudoun Hunger Relief through the darkest days of the COVID-19 epidemic. Even during those challenging times, her determination that our neighbors should have nutritious, whole food never wavered. Post-COVID, Jennifer led LHR into its new era as the anchor service of a Community Services Center, where our neighbors in need can access multiple human services supports in one location.
Ms. Montgomery said, “I am overwhelmed by this recognition of my service to Loudoun Hunger Relief. I deeply appreciate our board members, donors, volunteers, and staff who do this work alongside me. We are inspired by the people we serve, and we are proud to be a crucial part of Loudoun’s safety net.”
