Keep the Food Moving: Help Us Purchase a Refrigerated Box Truck During GiveChoose

It moves from grocery store shelves to our warehouse.
From local farms to our markets.
From our trucks to pantry shelves.
From our doors to family tables across Loudoun County.
On March 24th, 2026, during GiveChoose, we’re asking for your help to keep that food moving by supporting our campaign to purchase a refrigerated box truck for our growing food recovery and distribution efforts.
And thanks to generous anonymous donors, every gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $17,500.
What is GiveChoose?
GiveChoose is an annual 24-hour online day of giving that brings together hundreds of local nonprofits and thousands of generous donors to support causes across Loudoun and Northern Fauquier counties. Hosted by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, GiveChoose is designed to inspire community-wide philanthropy, raise critical funds for local organizations, and build awareness around the essential services nonprofits provide. Throughout the day, participating organizations can also earn prizes and bonus funds, making every donation go even further.
Why a New Box Truck is So Important
Last year alone, 14,000 of our neighbors needed food from Loudoun Hunger Relief.
To meet that need, our team operates an active food recovery program, picking up donations from 27 Loudoun grocery stores, along with farms, farmers markets, corporate partners, and nonprofit organizations.
Our trucks also transport food to the service sites where it is needed throughout the county.
But our truck fleet is aging. And as demand continues to grow, we need more refrigerated capacity to:
Safely transport fresh produce, dairy, meat, and frozen items
Recover more surplus food before it goes to waste
Deliver food efficiently to multiple locations
Serve more families, more often
A new refrigerated box truck means more food saved, more food distributed, and more neighbors served
