Yesterday, the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) released its annual Hunger Report. Although CAFB is not Loudoun Hunger’s food bank, we do follow their reports. We pay close attention to what is happening in neighboring jurisdictions. Loudoun’s trends are often very similar to those seen in Fairfax.
The report reflects the same trends we’ve been seeing in our frontline work here in Loudoun. The need for food supports has risen across all age groups. Need is increasing among middle income families who used to be able to make their income stretch to cover expenses. Families with young children, and senior adults are among the most impacted.
